One question that occasionally comes up is: "Can we get the RAW files from our wedding or engagement shoot?" We understand the curiosity, so let’s talk about what RAW files are, why photographers generally don’t provide them, and why you’ll still receive everything you need—and more—from your final gallery.
What are raw files?
RAW files are the digital equivalent of a film negative. They contain unprocessed image data straight from the camera sensor. These files are large, require special software to open, and don’t represent the final look of your photos. In fact, RAW files can appear dull and flat before any editing is applied.

We want all of your images to have a cohesive look—vibrant, timeless, and true to the moment. RAW files haven’t been through this creative process and don’t represent the final vision we stand behind.

RAW files are huge and can require specialized software to view and process. They aren’t easy to share or print without converting them first, and most clients don’t have the tools or experience to handle them.
